There are plenty of ways to enjoy a nice day on the water, but one of the most versatile ways is a water mat. A fairly newcomer to the world of floats and water toys, water mats are generally foam (but inflatable water mats do exist), are thin and simply float on top of the water. Large versions are perfect for lakes, because they not only float but can also support several people all at once. Because they’re foam, they won’t hold the weight completely above water, though. This means plenty of fun running around, splashing, jumping, and being right on top of the water with friends. Inflatable water mats, on the other hand, tend to be a little sturdier and can provide someone enough support to sit or walk easily onboard. Perfect for a little chair lounging, holding a cooler, or even doing a little fishing, these are more like floating decks than water sport splash pads. Either way you go, a water pad can have you in or on the water as much as you want, and let you enjoy your day on the water in a very active or very relaxed way.
