Flimsy
Plastic tab holding solar cell assembly and wires to motor broke. Trouble finding pole to fit. Haven't used on boat, yet; will update review when I have.

Cheap plastic
Plastic melted and fan stopped working on the first time I used it. Plastic fins supporting fan twisted causing fan blades to bind on housing.

Very, Very Flimsy Construction
This solar powered fan/vent is a great idea but unfortunately very poorly constructed. I had my Sunbrella custom cover built by a pro and asked that he add a solar powered fan because the dark blue cover, while not showing the dirt, definitely created heat build-up under the cover.
The Vent-Sol-Air became crushed after a month or two (see photographs). I NEVER towed the boat with the cover in place. The only downward force on the Vent-Sol-Air is the weight of the cover and the downward pull of the cover tie downs, something that is normal and expected with a custom boat cover.
Here are the photographs of the crushed fan...
The manufacturer does not warrantee this item. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM, IT WILL FAIL UNDER NORMAL LOADS.

Horrible and ruined my cover
Purchased in March of 2017 to put on boat cover this upcoming season. Was happy to see something like this existed. When I went to install it had a grinding sound from the fan and the wires to the solar panel were extremely flimsy. Overtons said it has to be replaced by manufacturer even if slightly outside of 30 days. Don't waste your money.

Very poor construction
Mine lasted for more than a season, but getting the hole right was impossible. I ended up cutting the hole just a slight too big so it had a slight gap around the edge. One way it could have been better is to provide a template. The other problem is that I wasn't able to secure it tightly enough to hold the cover in place inside the hole I cut. The screw mechanism needs to be much stronger. When it worked, it did keep the inside much cooler and mildew free. The solar panel and fan did work, but the overall construction makes this a poor product.

This really works!
I will be buying a second one of these to help with ventilation and reducing mildew. They are easily installed and assembled. It is totally quiet when operating. Great little item. Don't forget to order a pole as it is separate.

I just purchased the sol-air solar vet and had my canvas guy install. Is it supposed to run only when it gets to a certain temp or any time it is in daylight. I had the cover sitting in the sun off the boat and it never turned on..
Mine does not turn on at all
