The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Spring Kit 2503-70 is engineered for triple axle trailers, supplying the suspension components required for the third axle only and supporting up to 7,000 lbs per axle. It is ideal for larger RVs, fifth wheels, and high-end trailers that demand improved ride quality and load control.
Most trailers use two axles, commonly called tandem axle trailers, and Roadmaster Comfort Ride tandem axle kits include all parts needed for those setups. However, many heavier and longer trailers are built with three axles, known as triple axle trailers.
This kit contains components for the third axle only. When installing Comfort Ride Slipper Springs on a triple axle trailer, you must purchase one tandem axle kit AND one third axle kit. When combined, the two kits provide all necessary components for a complete three-axle Comfort Ride installation. Both kits must be the same weight rating.
Roadmaster offers the third axle kit separately due to shipping logistics. A single kit containing all six leaf springs would weigh approximately 180 lbs, exceeding small-parcel shipping limits. Splitting the system into two kits allows both boxes to ship via standard parcel service, avoiding higher LTL freight costs.
