Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Excellent product. My 10 year old was struggling to get up on his wake surf board, he'd been trying all season and part of the season last year. We bought this and he popped up and rode on his first time with it... he only needed it one more outing before he was able to get up on his own without it. We've since used it to help teach two other kids. This can be used for skis, wakeboards or wake surf boards with no issues and we even used it with an adult so it's a great learning tool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like training wheels are to bicycle I bought this 4-5 years ago and used it to teach my, then 8 year old, son. I've since used it to teach many older and younger people to ski. I even use it myself as I stopped skiing years ago due to sciatica but the buddy allows my to start easily without the pull on my hamstring. The plastic is very thick and durable so will not puncture easily. Kids use it to play with in the lake and it stands up to their punishment. Read one poor review where the person said it yanked the skier out of the water. Never been my experience. It's possible he gave too much throttle or the skier wasn't strong enough. Can't rate this highly enough!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product After several unsuccessful attempts of trying to teach my 9 year old daughter how to sk, the Aqua Buddy got her up first time, no problem. I would recommend this to any parent of a child that wants to learn how to ski.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total waste of money It doesn't work. Tried to help grandson to ski, he is 10, it just jerked him in the water. Waste of money, I guess we are stuck with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review from recent order The product works excellent for young beginner skiers that are not quite strong enough to hold their own weight coming out of the water; the aqua buddy takes this physical strain caused by the water resistance out of the learning process!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works very well It really helps kids get in the right position to learn to ski. I've been around skiing a long time and have been a part of dozens of attempts to get kids up on skis. But the young ones always have difficulty getting the skiis positioned correctly, facing the right direction and with the rope between the skiis. This floatie puts them in the correct position without all the floundering in the water. Then as the boat picks up speed the kid can stand up as the boat pulls him up. Plus since they are already sitting above the water, they don't have to pull themselves up so far. It really does work and eventhough this thing should cost about $20 it will save [$] worth of aggrevation when you're trying for the 10th time to get a kid up. I would give it 5 stars for function and about a 2 for being over priced. So 4 stars overall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from doesn't work as advertised Riders of all sizes and abilities are pulled off of the aqua buddy immediately. The only use besides sunbathing is getting up on wakeboard where the board could be used to hold the front of the A B up during acceleration. However while this worked for experienced riders it wasn't nearly so successful with beginners, A waste of money

I can tell you that RAVE has used this item during initial testing with a rider who weighed 190+, so 150 lbs can easily be handled.
