Poor Description
I had to return the item. In fact, I supposed this would happen, because there was no way to tell from the description whether this was what I needed or not. Ended up being not. The description could have been a bit more detailed. At least to have more pictures of the details of the item.

works well.
I had difficult situation to prep for install but would be easier on most other boats. The fixed main shaft one would have been better. I installed mine with lowest points for stability and stainless bolt to eliminate flex/slack in post base removable pin. Good product though.

Great Product
This product is constructed very well. Much stronger than the one it replaced. Installation is not too bad just take your time. You will need a center punch and some good drill bits because you have to drill through stainless. Read the instructions and use soap on the threads of the bolts. I did not do this and now I had to replace one of the custom bolts. It is totally my fault. there is a red warning card and a phone number and even a cell number for after hours support. I would highly recommend this product. It is well made and should last a long time.

the best accessory to my boat
I usually ski & kneeboard behind our pontoon boat, with this pylon it is easier to get out of the water, and on plane. it also keeps the rope out of the water when my kids kneeboard behind the boat.

Is this a permanent mounted pole, or can it be easily removed when not in use?
No, the Pro Deck Master Pylon has three quick connect hitch pins for easy assembly and removal.
Date published: 2017-06-22
Do you have pins for the ski pylon?
Please call 1-800-932-0685 and the manufacture will have the pins.

What is the diameter of the base mount plate?
3.5 inches
Date published: 2015-09-23
How far forward.. from the back of the boat does the pylon need to be mounted. I have a door hatch on the base of the boat that opens up to storage. I don't think I can mount the pylon on the hatch door.
Please call me on my cell phone at 561.523.1947 so I can go over this with you more clearly on the phone. Thanks, mike seipel

Why is this product not recommended for tubing?
Because the drag force will rip the pylon off the boat and could hit the tuber causing serious injury or death.
Date published: 2017-04-03
Why the not recommended for inflatables label if you recommend for wakeboards ?
Towables are bigger than wakeboards and it creates more drag on the pylon. Think about what is holding the pylon on the boat.....A few small screws, and if the screws give way the pylon is flying off the boat. Dont do it!

will this work on my 16ft bayliner with outboard
This is not a boat specific item, so you would need to check the dimensions of the product to your boat and see if it will work. There is not a listing of boats that this fits. You need to physically measure the area on your boat.

What type of base is required and is it included or sold seprately? What are the requirements for mounting the base that the pylon connects to. Does it need to be bolted through the floor of the boat or will screws work?
hi, the base is included with it. it should be thru bolted with big washers or an under plate. thanks.
