Broken boat hook
It arrived broken. I then had to pay shipping to return it which was a few weeks ago and I have not gotten a refund yet.

Works very well.
The twist locking extendable boat hook locks tightly to push or pull for many different uses. Most recently, we used it to push a log away from the boat, pull the boat into the dock and hold a towable tube while our guests climbed into the boat.

No boat should be without one.
Works as advertised. I have had a few of these and they always seem to lose their ability to stay extended. Will give this one the benefit of the doubt.

Loose ends
Not bad item, I wish the hook head was not a screw on as it likes to loosen.

I cannot get the pole to extend. Please instruct. Thanks.
The Overton's Floating Telescoping Boat Hook can be extended or retracted by twisting the main handle (bottom) counter clockwise while holding onto the boat hook portion (top). Once the two poles are loosened, you can extend or retract the boat hook to your desired length. To secure the pole sections, you can twist the main pole clockwise to tighten. Be careful not to over tighten.

I am having difficulty getting the boat hook # PN38798 to extend. Please instruct. Thanks.
To extend the Overton's Floating Telescoping Boat Hook, you must twist the main pole (bottom part of the handle) counter clockwise while holding the boat hook (top) stationary. Once the two poles have been loosened, you will be able to extend the boat hook to the desired length. After the desired length has been reached, you will need to twist the main pole clockwise while holding the top pole stationary to tighten. You can follow these same steps to retract the boat hook.
