How far can the bolt protrude from the nut?

Asked by: Cosmo
Per the manufacturer: "There is about an inch of clearance for both the nut and the tip of the bolt inside of the lock"

So how exactly does this work? Do i remove the motor bolt, place the sleeve over the hole and put the bolt back in and tighten? How does the top part lock down on the sleeve?

Asked by: Anonymous
The nut on the bolt is removed and the one part of the lock is slipped over the bolt, then the nut is replaced and the other part of the lock is placed over the nut and then locked. Do not lose the keys because they are not replaceable.

Can these locks fit a 225 Yamaha outboard motor?

Asked by: Anonymous
We do not know if the engine bolts for a 225 Yamaha O/B are 1/2 inch or less. This stainless steel lock fits up to 1/2" engine bolts. You will have to know if your engine bolts are the proper size for this product.
