Hook 2 4X with plotter worst I ever had
The plotter is useless. Only 2000 points allowed so the trail ends in a matter of hours. There is no generic map so all you get is lines with no reference to where you are. The sonar doesn't enlarge or shrink when the depth changes, rather it starts to scroll all over again when on auto. At speeds over 1500 rpm the sonar on auto thinks the depth is constantly changing, so all yo get is a series of lines as it starts to scroll every second. When the sonar is on manual and the depth gets deeper than what you set the numbers displayed for depth disappear. I'm embarrassed for Lowrance and the boat dealer who put this on the new boat I bought. I have several other Lowrance products and they are great.

Why can't I see fish ?? Everyone gives rave reviews about this product but in auto mode it doesn't show the fish ? Not very happy with it.

Just what I was looking for.
I needed a new bow mount sonar. All I need to know is depth, bottom composition and water temp. I have gps and down scan, etc in the stern(tiller boat); did not need any more technology. Thanks for the most elementary Hook2. Exactly what I needed. Plus......it is very user friendly. The wider view of the bottom is very useful. When U add in the voltmeter, I cud not have asked for more. An added bonus, very competetively priced! Thank you, Lowrance. Your competitors are for the “birds”.

Rough start but redeemed itself
I bought the unit a few months ago and had problems powering on, then once I got the unit working the transducer kept spamming out and reading the wrong depth and reading the underwater surroundings wrong. But after I got sick of it I hit the unit reset, and that ended all the problems and fixed everything. Good unit for kayak and small boat.

You get what you pay for.
I bought the unit to primary use on small lakes and rivers. It works great for that. Once I get onto bigger bodies of water ie: Green Bay, I definitely wish i had a larger unit with mapping available. Otherwise it works as it should.

I have a Lowrance X65 locator that I am replacing with the HOOK2 4x. Can I use the puck transducer I have, or will I need to use the bullet skimmer that comes with the new locator?
For this you would need to run the new bullet transducer.
Date published: 2018-04-03
Will this hook up to the transducer on my motor guide x15 trolling motor?
If you mean the XI-5 then it would connect to the sonar with an adapter 000-14070-001

Does this unit show water depth and mph
This unit will get speed from the internal GPS receiver and depth from the transducer.

Does the transducer mount on transom?
The bullet transducer does mount on the transom of the boat.
Date published: 2018-03-22
Does the transducer cord come with the unit and if so how long is it?
Average length for this type of transducer is 20'.
