Additional Information
The HOOK series combines the benefits of CHIRP sonar with built-in Broadband and DownScan Imaging fishfinder technologies to give you a clear and complete view of the underwater environment beneath your boat. Using the Lowrance HDI Skimmer transducer, these CHIRP sonars provide the capabilities to produce medium and high CHIRP sonar ranges. With these CHIRP sonar advantages, the HOOK series can more easily distinguish between baitfish and game fish targets, provide better target separation at greater depths, and mark fish clearly at faster boat speeds.

The HOOK-4 CHIRP DSI comes with DownScan Imaging that provides easy-to-understand, picture-like views of structure and bottom detail, as well as selectable, single-frequency Broadband Sounder capability. With the exclusive Lowrance DownScan Overlay feature, boaters can layer DownScan Imaging views onto CHIRP sonar or Broadband Sounder displays for a stunning presentation that separates and clearly exposes fish targets from surrounding structure. 83/200 kHz Broadband Sounder plus 455/800 kHz DownScan Imaging for depths to 1,000' (300' DSI).

This fishfinder chartplotter combo model comes with a highly accurate built-in GPS that includes a detailed US background basemap and a microSD card slot for map upgrades. You can also use your Insight Genesis custom maps created from your own sonar logs. This fishfinder chartplotter offers TrackBack for accessing multiple pages of sonar history, Advanced Signal Processing, and a convenient page selector menu with quick access to all features using one-thumb operation. The multi-window display lets you quickly choose from pre-set page layouts, including a three-panel view. NMEA 0183 connectivity. 500W RMS.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from junk I bought this pile last year and it never seemed to work right . This year it does not work it all! it turns off, the brightness goes down when i turn it off, so you can not see the screen in day light, it tells me there are fish when there are none, and there are not fish while i am catching them. to day it told me i was in 162 feet of water the lake is only 11 feet deep. I had to reset it 3 times.this is the third lowrance fish finder I've had I also have two GPS units from lowrance I am done with these products!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hook 4 w/ice transducer There is a half second lag for ice fishing chart mode. @ 200ghz I can see a decent portion of the water. @83ghz I see too much. Fished next to a vex and there was interference on my screen. I was able to mark way more fish than the vex fl28 next to me. I'd say vexilar has competition and so does marcum. Does have zoom feature and gps works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable I bought this unit a few months ago and have had it on my 14' John boat the last 3 times I have taken it out and the depth finder keeps saying I'm in 300' of water even though I just walked my boat out to waist deep water I actually hit something the other day because I thought I was in deeper water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice compact unit I purchased this unit to go on my fishing kayak. It is perfect for the use. It is nice and bright even in the sun, easily read, the ability to make changes to the display are easily done and the functions are easily understood without memorizing the user manual. I have used other Lowrance products that have larger screens and while this one is small it is still very useable considering it's size. I could also see this unit being used as a bow unit for someone operating a trolling motor or as a back seat user- I would have loved this when I was fishing with a partner in tournaments! Great little unit, cost effective for all the features it has!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased for cruising I purchased the Hook-4 with the Navionics+ card for my cruising boat. It works excellent. Updates fast and has a clear, bright screen. You would want to use it as an individual screen for sonar or chart location. I use it for chart location with a Depth and Time text overlay. Excellent unit!

Does this come with the mount and transducer?

Asked by: Nicole
This unit does come with a mount. We package it with or without a transducer. We would need the part number on the box to verify how it comes packaged, or you can check with the dealer to insure the transducer is included in the box.

water proof? water resistant? how long does a fully charged lithium based motorcycle size battery last in full brightness mode?

Asked by: ABLE
Our units are rated IPX-7, which is the industry standard. This means it can withstand being in up to a foot of water, for up to 30 minutes. How long the battery will last will depend on the battery's amp hours. The current draw on the Hook-4 Chirp unit is 750mA per hour.
