Additional Information
Fast fun at Sonix speed! This cockpit-style towable tube feature heavy-duty, fully covered, PVC construction; inflatable backrests and seat bottoms; soft foam handles with EVA knuckle guards; and quick-connect tow hook. Lightning valve inflates/deflates 57% faster than the Boston valve. 340-lb. weight capacity. 74"L x 70"W. One-year warranty.

The Lightning Valve is similar to the Boston Valve except that it is attached to the towable, so there are no parts to keep up with or lose. The wider opening inflates and deflates 57% faster than the Boston Valve. An interior flap prevents air from escaping, even if the cap is not in place. Inside diameter of the valve measures 30mm. Overton's recommends purchasing one of our Inflator/Deflator pumps (items #109694, #109532, or #109572) that come with an adapter sized to fit the new Lightning valve.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Ride Ever!!! We thought this would be a great riding tube for everyone. Turns out it was the worst ride ever. I would not recommend this tube for anyone and especially young kids.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Came with hole in it We ordered this tube before our kids were old enough to use it. It sat unopened for about 1.5 yrs. We opened it and blew it up and used it once and realized that one of the air bladders in the floor wouldn't hold air. The two floor bladders are completely sewn into the cover and cannot be removed or repaired. I probably got a hole in it from seeing it in there. I called Overtons to tell them about it, not being very hopeful that they would do anything about it bc it wasn't under warranty anymore. They put me on a long hold and then told me there wasnt anything the could do to help me. Whilenon holdni read other reviews and saw at least 2 other reviewers with the same problem. Bad design. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this tube. It's expensive and since the bladder in the floor won't hold air it hurt the kids to ride on it the one and only time we have ever used it. I'm disappointed that they wouldn't do anything to help with this situation. I grew up buying stuff from Overtons and thought they would handle this differently... oh well... we certainly didn't damage the product, it came with a hole in it and we just didn't open it soon enough...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great tube - need to sell replacement cushions Our family has really enjoyed this tube over the past 2 years. It is in great shape EXCEPT, one of the seat cushions has a hole that can't be repaired. It would be great to be able to buy replacement cushions. Without a cushion it is very painful for the rider and almost useless. Feeling Disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 2 man tube Have a 5 and 8 year old who love to tube but obviously aren't going 40 mph out there... yet :-) This tube ends the arguments about who goes first - they love going together and unlike the previous tube we had it's very stable at lower speeds so perfect for kids. Construction seems very solid - this should last us for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's all that and more!!!! Very sturdy and comfortable to ride when riding it hard. It tolerates heavier passengers surprisingly well. Looking forward to many more uses on the lake.

We have owned the Gladiator Sonix II and the three person tube for a number of years, and have experienced the bladders going flat due to small rips at the seams. Is it possible to purchase just the bladders?

    Asked by: Rick
Unfortunately, we do not offer the replacement bladders at this time.

Can you ride it on your stomach??

    Asked by: Carl
This tube is designed to ride sitting down and does not include handles at the front to hold on to if riding on your stomach. We do not recommend riding on your stomach for any cockpit style tube. Deck tubes are the best design for riding on your stomach.

Is it possible to purchase a replacement valve?

    Asked by: Jodi
The lightning valves are welded to the bladder itself and are not replaceable.

I have a tube now that when deflated the inside part moves around and is impossible to align back up when inflated   Does this tube have that issue?

    Asked by: Virgel
As long as the valve is lined up with the flap on the cover when you begin inflating it, there should be no issues. You may want to periodically adjust the bladder during the inflation process to make sure it continues to stay aligned, but there shouldn't be any issue.

Does it come up on plane easily? Our current one takes a while and in meantime front is way up in air.

    Asked by: Cpa57
You shouldn't have any issue with this towable getting up on plane, as longer as the driver isn't taking an excessive amount of time to get the boat going up on plane as well. The design of this tube allows the weight to be evenly distributed so you should have a good time!

Is it necessary to buy the inflator/deflator in order to inflate the tube?, or can it be done with an air compressor?

    Asked by: bear
We recommend purchasing an inflator/deflator to pump any tube up. High pressure air compressors have the potential to bust seams in the tube and would still require the purchase of an adapter to fit the air chamber properly. Can just one person be towed, or would that throw off the balance and make it tip over?

    Asked by: Pam
You could certainly tow one person. It would not tip over but it would be less balanced than with two people riding.
