Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pylon I am happy with the ski pylon, it is much stronger than the one I had been using and repairing the last couple seasons. It arrived sooner than expected, and installed fairly easy on my boat. I set it up for two different heights, which does take a couple of tools and 5 minutes to do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SOLID Product! Great After-Sale Service! I have and old school ski/speed boat that came from the factory in '77 with a Casad ski tri-pod. It was old, but serviceable. The center mounting plate broke while I was towing some kids on a tube and sent the whole tri-pod over the back of the boat to sink in about 25' of water. So much for that. The Casad tri-pod is NLA, so I chose this Barefoot International pylon. I am very happy with it so far. The center pole itself is very sturdy, and it was nice because I could use the old mounting plates from my previous telescoping arms to mount the new ones. I chose to install the plate for the mounting of the center pole as close to the back as I could for various reasons, and it works well there. I called Barefoot International with a couple of questions. Someone there answered right away, knew the product, and was very helpful over the phone - 5 stars there! As for cons... The plate for the center pole is not as sturdy as I would have liked. There are 5 mounting holes manufactured into the plate to mount to the deck of your boat. After conferring w/ B.I. I decided to drill 5 more holes and mount the plate with 10 mounting bolts. I believe this was a good decision given the way my particular boat is made. I have in mind to add more "eye ball engineered" mount strengthening, but I believe what I have done is good enough. Drilling holes in the telescoping arms also created a difficulty. They are stainless steel, and SS is difficult to work with. Drilling holes in stainless is very difficult IF you don't use a slow drill. This should be included in the instructions. I burned through about 5 drill bits trying to drill these holes when I finally took it to a machine shop where I was told there to use a slow speed. Bought a new bit, used a slow speed, and "viola", was able to drill the holes. All in all however, I am very happy with the sturdiness, the aesthetics, and the ease of hooking the the pylon up for skiing/water sports, and the removal of it for going on speed runs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as easy as we expected! The first time we used it, it almost pulled out of the floor. We had to do two modifications to get it to be stable. Works great NOW!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NIce Product It is easily removeable, so when we go fishing we can remove it for more space.

The height of the pylon is "adjustable." Does this mean the height is adjusted at the time of installation, like the support arms, or can the height be adjusted routinely, depending on each skier's preference?

    Asked by: maddog
It is adjusted at the time of installation, like the support arms.

How to put ski rope on pylon.

    Asked by: Mary
You have to make a cinch loop on the end of the rope and attach it around the swivel head at the top of the ski pylon.
