Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best deal going I use it on a small rental boat that does not have seats. The model available from Gander Mountain comes with the quick release for just a couple of bucks more. If you do the math and purchase the items separately you pay much more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great This boat seat spyder is super easy to attach and detach a boat seat to. Well constructed, and heavy duty. Very satisfied with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My new favorite seat Purchased this to use on the casting deck of a 16' Carolina Skiff. Swivel seat base just slides in, no tools needed. I use it on the front casting deck while operating the trolling motor and in the back when operating the tiller steer main motor and on the dock when fishing from there. Will likely get another one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice alternative. A great alternative to traditional fixed posts. You can set them anywhere in the boat you like without having to permanantly mount them. No bases to trip over. No drilling and mounting to the floor. You can also use your seats on the dock or porch. Stable while under way. Foot pads could be better but overall very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job. I bought this for auxillary seating for my jon boat or to use the boat seats on a dock etc. and its serves that purpose well. It seems to be sturdy enough, but I wouldn't lean back in the seat much. I would like to see a bit wider spread on the legs, which would stick out from under the seat then, but make it more stable. Also I replaced the plastic caps on the bottom of the legs with 1" crutch tips. I think they should make that standard. The plastic tips fall off and aren't going to last long anyway. The crutch tips are bigger, stronger and don't slide around. Its not a bad deal since the "release a seat" bracket on its own is nearly $20.

Can you position this over the bench seating on a flat bottom jon boat? How easy is it to move left and right along the bench seat?

    Asked by: gg
The footprint is 18.25” x 19.25” at the very bottom of the stand, and the height is 13” from the floor to the bottom of the stand, which is your key clearance in this case. The width at the top of the stand is about 8” as it tapers in, so you would need to account for that at the top, which may not allow the stand to fit. It will depend on how high the bench is. If you have enough clearance, then yes the stand can move left to right with ease. You may want to consider our seat clamp with swivel for this type of application (Overton's item # 73328)

Does this product have a weight capacitiy?

    Asked by: riverlady
It dosn't mention one on the tag, but I would think 250#'s would near the limit on a good flat surface.
