Additional Information

Great on pontoon and deck boats where there can be distractions when lowering an anchor, the TRAC Gen 3 Deckboat 40 AutoDeploy Anchor Winch automatically releases the rope needed to hold the boat in position.

This anchor winch lets you power down your anchor smoothly and quietly with just the touch and release of a button. When the anchor reaches bottom, the winch will transition from steady power deploy and begin releasing rope just a few feet at a time. When there is enough rope out, the winch will "lock", holding the boat position. You can also release or retract more rope by powering IN or OUT. Or press the AutoDeploy button again if the anchor drags due to changing conditions, such as wind or current.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you are looking for a winch to use to use with a 30Lb. anchor this definitely is not for you. I bought this winch for my 24ft. pontoon to use with a 30lb. river fluke. The first week after I installed it the control unit went out. They sent me a new control unit, no problem. The second week I was anchored, I went to retrieve it and the line went slack, had to pull the anchor up by hand. Not fun. Gear came unwelded from drive shaft. Called them and they sent me new motor and gear assembly. Anchor popped loose underway and lost my $70 anchor and their $19 rope. Do not use any anchor with over 20lb. They say it will use a 30lb. anchor but I seriously doubt it will even take 20lb. and not break. I noticed they had trouble at first with plastic gears breaking and replaced with metal, but it still is unreliable due to poor welding and quality. You must be very mechanically inclined, because they will send lots of parts with no instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TRAC Deckboat 35 I bought this and it is pretty straight forward on the installation the +& - wires were miss marked with the little stickers that someone put on the wires at the factory but just remember Red is hot and Black is ground. wish the cover wasn't plastic and attached better kinda sloppy and loss but i think it will be OK

I'd like to know if the ( trac deckboat 35) is ok to use in Salt Water??

    Asked by: adf58
Unfortunately this is a freshwater only anchor. Per the manufacturer, they do not offer any salt water anchors at this time. Also using their anchors in a saltwater environment will also void their warranty.

Does it need a cover when on boat in weather ?

    Asked by: Jack
It should withstand quite a bit of weather, but would recommend covering if possible in heavy downpours.

I know it comes with the line the question is can I get longer than 100' of line

    Asked by: Dylanator
No it wouldn't be wise. The spool rope is about as long as I would go with it. I had to cut about 25' off my anchor line because it would hang up and cause the anchor to seem as the battery was dead. After I took the 25' off it works like a champ. I'm very please with this anchor winch, it works very well now.. No more problems.

Does this product(Item # 848699) come with the anchor?

    Asked by: jaagonefishing
No, this TRAC anchor winch does not come with an anchor. Style and size of anchor is dependent on someone's vessel size, bottom conditions, etc.

I want the anchor in the front but the battery is in the back for my pontoon. What would I do for a 24 ft pontoon if I mounted this in the front? States a 17ft battery lead, pretty sure it will not reach. Options if needed?

    Asked by: Robbie Z
Based on details from the installation manual: If the length of wire that was included with the winch was not long enough, consider acquiring the next larger wire size (12 AWG) for your installation.Use the supplied circuit breaker or an in-line 20 amp fuse.
