Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy Purchase Quick and easy purchase. Looking to install on my boat trailer in the next few days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 48 The item was easy to install with the exception of the self-locking nuts on the u-bolts. I used almost all the threads on the u-bolts and found it somewhat difficult to hold the guides in place while tightening the nuts with a box end wrench. Installation of both guides took approximately 30 minutes. The product works well once installed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not sturdy. I have a 22' heavy gauge aluminum boat. When loading the boat onto the trailer it doesn't do what it's meant to. The boat doesn't center when pulling the boat out of the water. I have to drop the boat back in the water at the ramp multiple times to have a 2nd person to physically center the boat every time. By the way, I have made multiple adjustments with narrowing the guide ons to possibly keep the back of the boat from swaying a little bit but still not working, too much flex of the guide on posts, keeps expanding out when boat leans on the them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Boat Guide These guides have really simplified centering the trailer on windy days. Also, I can now "see" the trailer when backing it down the boat ramp.

The Tie Down 48" Boat Guides have a PVC diameter of 2-3/8" and there is not any steel that runs inside of the PVC tubing.

Are they structurally sound enough to load a 29' tri-toon boat on a windy day/s. How long is the lower mounting bar, if it is installed the maximum 16" out from trailer how much is in the mechanism securing it to the trailer?

Asked by: J_T

I see a user has broken one of these. Are they poles purely PVC - or PVC covered galvanised steel?
