Sierra Amega 2 Fuel Gauge solved my problem
Gauge works great. Matches original gauge set pretty well. Solved my shakey needle problem...

Works exactly like it's supposed to.
This gauge is a perfect replacement for a non-working gauge. I wish that they would have posted a picture of the back of the gauge. This one had studs and the one it replaced had spade lugs. This necessitated cutting off the spade receptacle and installing ring connectors. This required working in a tight space with limited access. Wish I would have known beforehand.

Exact replacement at reasonable cost
The last one lasted for 10 years in a boat kept outside but control console was kept covered.

The connections, are they lugs or spade type? Also, how many connections are there? I am replacing a quicksilver guage from a 1993 lund 1700 pro angler.
This gauge has 1 spade connector for light(labeled "L") and 3 studs labeled as "G"(Ground), "S"(Sender), and "I"(Ignition).

Hi, i see from some of the questions that the gauge will not work in europe ?? can you tell me why please. Thank you Martin.
The fuel gauge will work with your application if your sending unit has a 240-33 ohm.

how many olms does a marine gas gauge have or does it matter, to use chevy or ford gauge.
All American fuel gauges and fuel sending units run on 32-240 ohms. It will work on whatever you have on your boat unless your boat was made in Europe.

Will this unit work with the origional sending unit in an 20 foot 1988 bayliner trophy. The sending unit tests good.
Yes it should work fine

What kind of sender unit goes with this guage, and is that a seperate purchase?
Item 74917 would work with any standard fuel gauge including this one. It is a separate purchase at $29.99.
