Features
The Roadmaster 3rd Axle Comfort Ride Slipper Spring Kit includes components for one additional axle and is rated for 6,000 lbs.

The Comfort Ride 3rd Axle Slipper Spring Kit
Includes slipper springs for one axle, patented slipper box, hardware, and detailed instructions. This 3rd axle kit is an add on to the tandem axle kit for adding a complete set of Slipper Springs to your triple-axle trailer (including many larger, high-end trailers and fifth wheels). If installing Comfort Ride Slipper Springs on a triple-axle trailer, you will need one tandem axle kit AND one third axle kit. The two kits combined provide all the components for three axles. Both kits must be for the same weight rating.

Comfort Ride Slipper Springs
Travel trailers and fifth wheels use traditional 'eye to eye' leaf springs which haven't changed much for 100 years. If you look at a horse buggy from the late 1800s, it has leaf springs very much like your trailer. This is why your trailer is constantly bouncing and swaying. When your front tire hits a pothole, the front leaf spring reacts to it and telegraphs that energy through the equalizer to the back leaf spring. Then, when the back tire hits the same pothole, it happens all over again in reverse. You basically get twice the bounce with every bump.

Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Springs break the connection between the front and rear axle. Both the front and rear springs will slide forward and backward in response to road conditions WITHOUT transferring energy to the trailer. This movement absorbs and dissipates a significant amount of energy that would otherwise make your trailer ride rough, sway, and tow poorly.

Comfort Ride Slipper Springs will significantly reduce the cause of these common suspension-related symptoms.

Chucking – The truck is rocked forward and aft when the trailer goes over uneven pavement.

Axle Roll-Up – During braking, the trailer's rear tires are lifted enough to cause a loss in traction.

Suspension Rebound – When a tire goes over an obstacle, the trailer tips sideways. After clearing the obstacle, the leaf springs rebound like a pogo stick.

Why Comfort Ride Slipper Springs Work Better
Slipper leaf springs attach to a central hanger that isolates each axle, so the two springs are no longer connected. Each spring is free to absorb and dissipate energy independently. Slipper springs also have fewer moving parts. 10 of the 14 moving parts in a conventional trailer suspension have been eliminated; the remaining four are lubricated with long-life bushings.
