Additional Information
This multi-use, rugged float can be used as a pick-up buoy, marker buoy, or fender. Makes a great marker for water ski events and can be used as a fender for personal watercraft. Taylor's unique double-color system incorporates a "back-up" color that resists fading. Taylor fluorescents will retain their color long after the competition's has faded away. Buoy measures 8" diameter with an approximate buoyancy of 8 lbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Red Watercraft Buoy It worked great in the lake as a marker buoy for our boat. We tied it to our new Overton's Anchor Buddy! The marker buoy was very visible to other boats and it looked awesome with our Malibu boat. We are very pleased with it! The only ding I would give it would be for the color being a little more pink-red than red-red. Hopefully it won't fade into a pink color. Will keep you posted on that. Thanks Overton's!!

How tough are these buoys and can they withstand significant use? Also can they be punctured? What are they made from?

    Asked by: Alex
Per the manufacturer these are constructed of marine grade vinyl. They can be punctured with sharp objects and can withstand significant usage.

The most common anchor for buoys is a pair of concrete building blocks. With minimal fluctuation, the recommended method is to anchor sub-buoys about three feet below the surface and attach the surface buoys to them with about a foot and a half of some type of elastic (shock cord). The elastic keeps the anchor line taut and the buoy directly over the anchor and allows for a 6 to 12 inch variation in water level. On reservoirs, tidal bays and other waters which experience fairly substantial water level variations, it may be necessary to equip each buoy with a counterweight to keep the anchor line tight.
