Rated 2 out of 5 by from It worked, but.......... The glue worked well when dry. But, for my taste, it was way too thin. Especially compared to the glue I obtained from another source. When your in a tight spot, with new carpet everywhere, you don't need an adhesive that wants to drip off the side of your trowel. So thin that once spread with the trowel, the ridges left behind, tendend to flatten away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. The product was easy to use. Easy to apply. I have done this to my boat one other time. This product was so much easier and seems to be a stronger bonding glue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Used to apply carpet to a small deck I installed for fishing in my runabout. Applied easily with a simple trowel. Carpet adhered well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable This product was easy to use following instructions that came with it. This is the first time I have carpeted a boat and so far after 6 weeks (boat on the water often) the carpet I glued is staying glued down. Just make sure to follow the direction and let the glue cure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and easy to use The front portion of our pontoon is where our carpet came up. We bought your marine carpeting and used your adhesive to install the carpet. It was easy to put down and install the carpet. I would definitely recommend this product!

Will the adhesive hold under wet conditions? Your specs say "water resistant" and "water proof" would be more desirable thus my question.

Asked by: Ollie
Thank you for your question. Product is designed to hold under normal boat flooring installation conditions. The adhesive is will not hold up to extended submersion underwater for long periods of time such as a ladder or deck that stays underwater.

Can this be used on a boat trailer to secure the carpet onto running boards? In this case, the boards will be fully submerged so is this glue intentede to be used with a fully submerged application?

Asked by: fuzzsoccer30
Thank you for your question. For trailer applications the carpet is attached to the bunkboards via staples/mechanical fasteners. Glue may not hold up to this application and cannot be recommended.

What happens in the future whene I want to remove or change the carpet? How hard is it to remove after installation?

Asked by: Mike
Removal of the carpet is not that difficult (usually can be cut with a razor blade and pulled up). Removing old glue takes a little more time and can either be sanded down or removed with a flat blade.

what do you use to remove unwanted adhesive that is in the wrong place?

Asked by: Katydid
To clean spilled/excess Overton’s Outdoor Carpet Adhesive: simply use warm water and a clean rag and wipe away any excess. To remove unknown previously installed adhesive: we do not recommend any solvents. There is always a danger of chemical reactions and since there is no way of knowing what the chemical composition of the old adhesive was, the best thing to do is scrape as much of the old adhesive off as possible, and sand any residual dried adhesive (easier with a belt-sander)
