Bunk Material
I refurbished an older boat trailer to haul my Kayak. I ordered the Bunk Carpet to minimize scratches on the Kayak. The material was sent promptly and was an improvement in the material I had used a few years back. The order was also shipped as quickly as possible given the pandemic.

Half inch to narrow
Actually, this carpet should be 8 1/2 inches wide in order to cover three sides of a 2X4 used for bunks. It's 1/2 inch to narrow. Looks like a poor recovering job.

Sizes of carpet rolls need to be though out better
The size of the carpet rolls needs to be better thought out. The carpet barely covers 3 sides of the standard 2x4. An extra 2" in width would completely cover all four sides of a standard 2x4. It would make for a much neater installation if the fourth side were completely covered.
Also the lengths should be adjusted to 3" longer than standard 2x4 lengths. For instance an 8' roll should be adjusted to 8'3", a 10' roll should be adjusted to 10'3", etc so that you can wrap the ends of the 2x4. My bunk boards were 8' and 16' long. I was able to cover the 8' board with one solid piece, but I ended up having to piece the 16' one together. I would suspect that over time the ones that are pieced together will not hold up as well as the one that is one solid piece.

Roll Out the Black Carpet
The 8 inch carpet fits a 2 x 4 perfectly. I applied indoor/outdoor carpet glue and used 1/2 inch stainless steel staples.

What size is recommended for a 2"x 4" x 12'
We would recommend using the 12" x 12' so you are able to wrap the carpet around the board.

what size do i need if i am trying to cover a bunk that is 2"x6" board? do i need to order 6 rolls if I have 6 separate bunks?
You'll need the 12"x12' so it will wrap around the board and you'll need 6 of them.

What width do I need for a 2x4 bunk board?
The 12" will wrap the entire board and give you about 1" of overlap.
