Does this tank need to be removed from the boat to be filled, like smaller tanks?

    Asked by: Steve
The manufacturer of the Moeller EPA Above-Deck 14-Gallon Plastic Fuel Tank has always recommended the removal of the above deck fuel tanks from the boat before re-fueling to prevent a spark from static electricity. If the tank is left in the boat, it is recommended to make contact between the fuel nozzle and the edge of the fill area to the fuel tank before dispensing the fuel. The nozzle should maintain constant contact to the fuel tank when being filled to prevent a spark from static electricity.

can this tank be mounted on it side in the side gunnels or does have to be mounted flat?

    Asked by: Mike
The fittings on the top of the tank must be facing up for the tank to function properly.
