Features
See surrounding traffic on a big color screen and call a vessel directly from the AIS plot. The Icom IC-M605 with AIS is a 25 W fixed-mount VHF with an integrated AIS receiver and a 4.3"" color TFT LCD that offers a viewing angle of nearly 180 degrees. Night mode keeps it readable in the dark.
The AIS combo screen lets you monitor the AIS plotter during basic operation, and you can place an individual DSC call to a selected AIS target right from the AIS screen. The AIS function is receive only, so it does not transmit your position.
You can add up to three stations using HM-195 series CommandMic microphones and the RC-M600 Command Head, and either one works as an intercom with the main radio. Class D DSC and an integrated GNSS receiver are built in, and the supplied UX-241 antenna connects with a 5 m cable. NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connectivity shares position and AIS data with other electronics.
Active noise cancelling, a last-call voice recording, a hailer, a foghorn, and AquaQuake draining round out the radio. The front panel is rated IPX8, and an HM-205RB speaker microphone is supplied with a rear-panel connection option.
