poor results
I mixed exactly to spec and st still tacky 3 days later. Ugh
Also why in the world would it refer to adding resin in the directions? is that an option and if so it should say why!

Don't forget the hardner
I received the quart of gel-coat but no hardner. When I called customer service they said there was a little confusion if the hardner was supposed to be shipped as a serarate item or not. They did agree that I should have received the hardner, but I don't know why there was any confusion to begin with, it clearly states that hardner is included when you place the order. If I were to order this product again I would add a comment to my order "don't forget the hardner".

Good Quality gel coat paint
Nice quality paint. Be sure to only mix the hardener with what you can work with at the time. I used about half a pint with a 1/4 of the hardener. It hardens in about 25 minutes so again, be conscious with how fast you can paint it on and the area you have to work with. Otherwise a good product.

I did what instructions said to use 1/8 oz for pint and so I did have the amount and half that formula for 8 oz so plenty of hardener and had wax kindand it never dried it is still wet after two days and reacted and peeled the old gel coat I patched why?
Unfortunately that is a question geared toward the manufacturer. We recommend contacting them via 1-800-729-7600

Will the product sag if you apply it to a vertical surface?
Yes. The White Gel Coat With Wax could run so it is recommended that the surface be in a horizontal position, if possible.

What do you recommend as proper method to apply this coating for a shine, uniform surface? Roller? Brush?
To get the best shine, it should be installed by a brush. When the product is cured and dried, then it will need to be buffed for a shiny finish.

The white coating on the aluminum doors trim is pealing. Is this the proper coating for the aluminum trim around the boat doors? If not, what would you recommend?
No. The White Gel Coat With Wax would not be recommended for this application. If the trim is also aluminum then I would suggest an aluminum paint.

What is the expected coverage (i.e., 1 gal = 20 sq ft)? Also, how many coats are typically expected over newly sanded fiberglass?
Hello Idrabefi, Your question is very difficult to answer in that there are so many variables that play into the thickness of the application. It will depend on the thickness of the mesh or fabric that you are trying to cover. I cannot tell you that it will cover X amount of square footage due to this reason. I am attaching the manufacturers instructions to help with your application. The web address is: http://www.hibond.net/Literature/INS%20GELCOAT.pdf Thank you, Steve

Is the gel coat spray ready? If not, What is the mix ratio? And does it require mixing with a chemical?
It's good to go.
