Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless Junk Broke after one use. I keep gluing the plunger on the shaft and it keeps breaking. Very fragile

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good insurance! Good quality! Just one of those items that every small boat owner should have ... and hope you never need to use!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from usefulness Really pumps the water but (1) it leaks a bit as you do so, (2) the hose can fall out of the pump connection, and (3) hared to store (needs a better clip for storage.) Good back-up pumping device for small boats. For boats with a battery, instead get an electric bilge pump.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor design The pumping volume of this product is great. That said, as other reviewers note the hose pops out - alot! This makes for a very messy job and also makes the experience of using this pump very frustrating - you just get it going and the hose pops out-water sprays all over and you have to keep fitting the hose back in every time. It seems that it would be easy to design a hose that would lock into the pump fitting with a simple twist - like vacuum cleaner fixtures lock into a home vacuum hose. In short, until they come up with a model that has a mechanical way of keeping the hose attached during operation this product is difficult to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I'd hoped... I bought this product simply as a back-up to my auto bilge pump that I've been experiencing trouble with, but couldn't get into the shop to fix properly. I've used similar pumps in the past effectively, and I candidly didn't have unreasonable expectations for this product. The hose is both too short to move water from inside the boat to the outside of the boat (and the application here was for a direct-drive tournament ski boat, so it's not like the boat is big), and it's poorly connected to the pump. The hose isn't connected to the pump in any permanent way, and it therefore leaks unmercifully. A significant amount of the water I was trying to pump out ended up back in the boat due to the leaky connection. I couldn't recommend this pump for anything other than an aluminum rowboat, or small, open-bilged skiff.

I NEED A NEW HOSE. WHAT SIZE HOSE FITS THE HAND HELD BILGE PUMP?

    Asked by: TOM
Unfortunately we do not carry the replacement hose. Per the manufacturer, you are able to locate replacement parts with your local Wal-Mart.

How can I get your bildge pump from leaking at the junction of the pump and hose?

    Asked by: Dave
The Hand Bilge Pump uses compression to keep the hose and the pump from leaking and this also allows for the hose to be removed for storage. If you do not need to remove the hose for storage, then you can use a bead of silicone around the inside of the hose inlet to prevent any further leaking.
