Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saved Me A Lot of Time and Effort I bought this kit last year so this is the 2nd season I have used it. It is easy to use if you just follow the instructions. Be sure you poke a hole in the vent nipple as it is not vented when you get it (or mine wasn't) The other thing I would suggest is using Teflon tape on all the connections. Mine tended to leak a bit until I taped it up. One of the more critical things to do is to be sure you add water to your antifreeze if it calls for it. If you don't it's too thick to be pulled up into the engine with just the impeller in the lower unit. The directions state you have to thin it down as per the anti-freeze instructions. I have used it winterizing my boat (I/O) and both my SeaDoo's. Filling up the five gallon container is imperative if you want a thorough mixture throughout your engine. You must use all of the mixture (again, it's in the instructions).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fast and easy Simple and easy to use. Should save me lots of money over coming boating seasons. Just make sure to drill out the vent hole in tank and make sure your motor reachs operating temps so antifreeze is drawn into entire cooling system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would definetly buy this product again I used this for putting antifreeze in all of the systems in my sailboat. It was very helpful once I discovered that the tank would not completely empty without tilting the tank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Real Money Saver The DIY Winterizer was a time and money saver for me. I have winterized my boat for over 20 years using a method similar to this. However, I never took it to the drawing board like Camco has. A few notes though: Pay attention to the instructions and be sure to completely punch out or drill out the vent nozzel. In order for the antifreeze to run freely it needs that air flow. At first I only cut a small slit in the vent with a knife but noticed that the antifreeze would girgle as it tried to empty. So, I drilled out the entire vent (be sure to clean out the shavings from the tank) and it flowed completely free then. Also, the instruction recommend diluting the antifreeze solutions per mfg instructins. I tried to run it undiluted at first and it's just to heavy (thick) to dispense and circulate easly. Some other commenters mentioned leakage at the connections so I used plumbers tape and that solved the leak problem. The tank is heavy enough and should last for years. This was my first time to use this product. I kind of wish there was a hand hold molded into the tank bottom because 5 gallons of antifreeze get's heavy when you are handling it. Everything was shipped as stated. Be sure to get a good set of muffs for the lower unit. No sense in your antifreeze leaking out at the point it enters into the impeller. All in all....I'm glad I bought this kit and I have winterized one I/O and two PWC's with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Prepare to get wet The ball valve on the tank does not seal on the brass hose fitting. screwed fitting in as far as it would go with a pipe wrench and it still sprayed antifreeze and water everywhere

DO YOU FOG THE ENGINE THRU THE CARBUREATOR  AT THE EXACT TIME THAT YOU ARE PUMPING THE ANTIFREEZE IN  IN A OPEN SYSTEM ? it usually takes awhile to fog correctly using 2 cans simultaneously fogging the jets in a 4- barrell carb.

    Asked by: DICK
The recommendation for the Do-It-Yourself Boat Winterizer is to run your engine and circulate the anti-freeze/coolant. When you have flushed the entire 5 gallons, you should turn off your motor and remove the spark plugs. Once you have them removed, you should spray the fog into each cylinder for the best results.
