I'm concerned if they are heavy duty enough to handle a heavy tri toon in rough or windy conditions. Will they bend or will the PVC be damaged easily?

Asked by: tooner67
The Tie Down Floating Guide-Ons are built very well. However, there is a possibility that they could be damaged in certain situations.

What makes the PVC float up, on the post and what's the difference between this product and others that have a hole in top of PVC cap. What keeps the PVC from floating OFF the upright in deeper water?

Asked by: George
Thanks for your question. The air that gets trapped inside the PVC as you back your trailer in the water forces the PVC section to float up. There is a slot in the the metal upright and the PVC has a pin at the base that goes through that slot to prevent the PVC from going to high and floating off. Other models that are not designed to float up to adjust have the hole in the top to allow the air to escape and prevent the PVC from floating.

Will they work with a Premier PTX pontoon setup?

Asked by: dave
As long as you have adequate space between the two outside pontoons and the center pontoon this guide-on will work. The Premier PTX appears to have about 8" to 12" between the pontoons. You should verify that this is the case since we are not familiar with every model Premier PTX boat but believe this is the case on most models. Also note that many pontoon boat owners will install two sets of guide-ons on their trailer. One near the front and one near the rear of the trailer. This will help keep the pontoon boat from crossing up when trying to load it on the trailer. Since the front of the trailer is usually in shallow water it is usually not necessary to use floating guide-ons on the front and you can use standard guide-ons like item 74124. We hope this helps but please email us back or call one of our product techs at 1-800-334-6541 if you need further assistance. Thanks
