broke even before a first use
I got this retractor with some of other stuff. and it broke while I were trying to attach it to my bag. Plastic just broke at the spot where lock pin is attaching to the retractor.
Very poor design, I cannot trust it to hold my gear, it is breaking under almost no load.

Okay product
You’re not going to get anything that weighs more than a few ounces without pulling out the lanyard. Just be aware for scissors another things you will need a different product . It attaches with a stick pin which is not ideal.

Weak clip opens up all the time
The clip is far too weak and opens up. I have lost clippers and a hook hone. Gave up and binned the retractor. Simms normally means quality but this is very poor design.

They work
These things work and they last a long time. I have 4 or 5 of them on different shirts and fanny packs. Can’t go wrong getting a couple.

Broke before I could even use it
Bought two new retractors to replace a pair that are over 20 years old, when I got home one of them was in the bottom of my sack with the pin still attached to the paper card. It’s not worth the hour drive to return it. The new gear hook is easier to use than the old style, I’ll try some glue and see if it holds.

Faulty attachment system
Great concept, but fails in execution. First day using it, the retractor came off the pin. Not very durable.
