Rated 5 out of 5 by from congested casting Very good for creek fishing with bait caster with a lot of tree foliage and such, or not a lot of room to throw. Many big'ns caught with this rod.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok First rod I ordered came broken. Tube was fine, it appeared to be crushed/stepped on before it was even sent out. They sent me a new one and the blank is slightly bent around the middle of the rod. Better off picking one up at the store. Rod feels great when doing some casting. Haven't put any weight on it yet to see how it really is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeatable for the price I've owned a lot of higher-end rods, but learned that Ugly Stick offers similar performance of rods many times more expensive. The Uglies are also more rugged and stand up better to rough handling. Bought two different rods (1 spinning & 1 baitcasting) both two piece, for use on traveling Western Basin walleye trips as well as local inshore fishing for red drum, speckled trout and flounder. While I wish the "Inshore Select" series was still available, the GX2 have proven their worth to me and my buddies in flats/bay settings, and I'm sure will perform well on Lake Erie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My "Go-to" gear! I have multiple of each ugly Stik rods and my "Go-to" travel kit is a GX2 medium action 6-6" (2) PC casting rod, and a gx2 6-6" (2) PC spinning rod. Between the two of them, not very many fish are out of my boundaries! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Strong!!! I could lift the anchor with this rod, then turn around and cast a popper! Couldn't be happier! Ugly Stik never lets me down and never stops amazing me! I'd pay hundreds for the same rods and my friends would all be jealous, they can break hundreds of dollars worth of rods though, and I'll still be pitching the same old ugly Stik!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! Just received my new Ugly Stick last week and headed out on the water Sunday. Casting was consistently smooth, and when I hooked my only fish of the day (a three pound largemouth) I landed it easily.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good at first Bought a light action rod last February that was 6ft long and paired it with a Mitchell avocet 1500 for trout fishing. I put 6lb pline fluorocarbon on it and it worked great. We really tore them up on pretty much every trip. However, the reason for two stars is cause when deer season comes in I put my fishing stuff up till next trout season. This year when I got it back out I was sadly surprised to see the eyelets corroded with rust. Not sure why, cause the rod is in my basement along with many others and none of them rusted. It's bad enough I'll probably through it away.
