Line broke
First day using it, line broke on a cast. Hopefully it was an anomoly and it won't happen again. I have this model and have used it for 10 years - so disappointed in line breaking first time use of the new one.

Piece of junk
Several years ago I purchased Shakespeare Synergy twin pack. Both reels never cast properly. Said I would never purchase another one. I like the convenience of a small trigger spin to fish for trout and crappie. I saw the Synergy TI 6U and thought I would try It. Big mistake, should have know better. It woundn't cast at all. Piece of juck. It would be rated a 0 if p0ssible. Well is is a check lesson to learn/

Long term results
I have had 3 for many years and had great results. Until last year when they would hang up when casting far distances. I just took them apart and found the problem. They put wire covered in felt around the edge of the spool and over time it wears out. It causes the line to snag inside and stops the line from coming out. I think I might try to fix them but probably too much trouble. Also the inside will rust and also cause trouble casting.

Inexpensive Reel
I bought 3 of these reels mostly because they were priced cheap and were easy for the kids to use. However I discovered that they tangled easily until I removed about 30 feet of excess line. That solved the tangle problem. Now I'm getting the plastic cast button stuck and on one reel the button is broken and now unusable. I understand that when I buy an inexpensive product, that it might not be top quality. However I had hoped they would at least last one season. We're down to one reel that's still working.

Synergy steel
Stopped working immediately. Could not take the spinner apart to fix. I see the "new" synergy steel is coming soon. Not surprising.

The price is really the only upsides
I bought three of these. The first I bought for my son when his Zebco broke. So far I haven't had any trouble out of it, but it gets infrequent use. The second I bought for myself to put on a cheap rod I picked up on clearance. I first I loved the thing, but after a few weeks of steady use it started catching and hanging up constantly to the point that now it rarely casts at all. The only reason I bought the third is that it was cheaper than buying line to try to fix the broken one.

Disappointed with reels
Bought two these for perch fishing. One broke on the first cast and the second one binds up and catches constantly.
