Floating backing plates allow belt to stay straight and not burn the blade tip. A ceramic deburr slot puts the finishing touches on the edge. The unit comes with rechargeable lithium ion batteries that provide a continuous run-time of 15 minutes. Quick charge technology delivers full battery charge in under an hour. The Smith's 50902 Battery Powered Knife Sharpener includes 3 abrasive belts (fine, medium, and course). Replacement belts sold separaetly.
