Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broken hooks I bought some of these hooks in 7/0 for deep sea fishing. I had had one or two break previously, but did not think much about it. The other day while fishing had two more break just below the barb and then one 5/0 broke in the same way, loosing fish each time. I emailed the company and they said if I would send them the broken hooks and their packaging, they would replace them, as they had been having an issue with them being cut to deep at the barb. I had tossed mine and they are now resting in 250 ft of water, so I did not have any to return. Just make sure when yours break, save the hook and package, so they will replace them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gamakatsu Quality! These are great hooks. I'd expect nothing less from Gamakatsu. They're quite strong and very sharp. You can either snell them or tie your line directly to the eye. I used these to freeline sardines and haul in big barracuda and yellowtail off the coast of San Diego and had zero problems with the hooks.

wht does it mean by choose your size does it mean in inches

    Asked by: Anonymous
Not quite! The higher the number the smaller the hook is except when it is in the format of as examples: 3/0 or 7/0. Hooks like this get larger as the number grows.

is size one the biggest hook? are these salt water hooks? can you use shrimp or squid baits?

    Asked by: Paul
7/0 is the big hook. I use 5/0 to 7/0 in salt water. Anything you can get to stay on the hook. I have used squid and chunk bait.
