Now it goes on every trip
We bought this portable fire ring when the wildfire restrictions prevented wood campfires in the mountains where we frequently camp. It was so easy to use and perfect for our family of four to gather around that now we take it on every camping trip. No hassles with firewood. No smoke in your eyes. Easy to light and turn off when you are done. We just bring an extra tank of propane because my wife loves to light this fire in the morning while I'm cooking breakfast. Highly recommended!

Nice portable fire pit!
I bought this to use underneath a covered pavilion (metal roofed), for those times that I don't want to lug firewood to the fire pit that is out in the yard, or when its wet and we want to stay under cover. It puts out a nice amount of heat, and while its not quite the ambiance of a real wood fire, its much more convenient. Plus I can bag it up and take it anywhere I need to - can't beat that.

long lived and very handy
I bought this 4 years ago to be able to have a fire in Canyonlands during a winter trip on the white rim with kids. The heat doesn't compare with a real campfire but it really helped keep us warm. Since then I've used it several times in campsites with similar restrictions (often with dirty looks from other campers who aren't able to have a fire...it was cleared with the park and camp host) as well as many MANY backyard gatherings. I've been nothing but extremely impressed with the value. You get a lot for the money and everything about it has held up extremely well. No rips in the bag, roasters are still great, and no rust or deterioration of the ring even after leaving it out a few nights (the fire ring is rusting, but that happens with heat-cycled metal in contact with LPG.).
I get about 10-12 hours of use at full blast from a 20 lb tank continuous use (if you were to leave it on for half a day continuously). or about 1.8 lbs/hr. A little less than the 55,000 BTU/hr rating would suggest.
I love it, we've loved having a spontaneous roast without smelling like smoke after.

Great product, distributor not so much.
The Camp Chef fire ring is awesome. Very compact, nice tote bag and not to heavy. It doesn't put out a lot of heat, but it is more for ambiance and making smores anyway. The 2 star rating is because of Camping World. Their communication is non-existent and I had to go through several layers and attempts to find where my order was. I ordered on June 27th and received it July 27th, and no communication from Camping World at all.

Great replacement for fire ban areas!
We are in a fire restricted area. This is easy to set up and use as a replacement for a wood fire. Highly recommend getting one.

Instant Campfire!
What a great concept; especially for those fire sensitive areas; put the fun in campfires no matter where you are. It puts out plenty of heat and just enough ambiance for those special nights with family and friends around a campfire. It isn't nearly as good as the traditional 'ol wood log bonfire, but is really handy when spaces are tight and restricted. I also bought a quick-connect hose to make attaching to my travel trailer even easier!
