Additional Information
Berkley's Vanish Transition is the only 100\\\\% fluorocarbon fishing line that changes color - so you see it but fish don't! Above water the line physically ''transitions'' to either gold or crimson red so you can detect strikes faster. Underwater the line appears clear so fish aren't spooked. Bottom line: You catch more fish! Berkley's continuously improved Vanish formula maintains all of the strength and abrasion resistance of fluorocarbon is easy to handle with good knot strength and sinks underwater for a more sensitive and more direct profile from rod tip to lure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Line was bad right out of the box I bought the 8lb vanish fluorocarbon and it breaks extremely easy right out of the box. Every time I cinch down a knot it just breaks and I tried tying many different knots and wetting the line etc. I tested it against some old 4 lb and 8 lb monofilament that I had and this stuff broke significantly easier than both. Very upset when I lost a nice bass and several lures due to this junk. Will not be buying this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from i hate this line so much everything else that Berkley makes is great but vanish has given me heart break after heart break after heart break, i cannot tell you how many fish I've lost because of it which were broken off during the hook set or the fight. i hate this line with a passion and i regret ever using it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Strong Tried Berkley Vanish 4 Lb. test for trout fishing. Line does not hold up well at all. New line breaks very easily. Have had line break at least three times when setting hook and not hard hook sets with a very limber rod and I'm talking about new line with only 3 casts on it. Very disappointed. Will not buy again. Best line I've used was the Trilene Armor Coated which I guess they've discontinued since I don't see it listed anymore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mixed review I bought this 4 lb. test product for the purpose of casting 1/32 oz. lures to Trout. Using a 5' 6" ultralight rod, I could average about 60 foot casts. When my lure would become snagged I found that I could exert a great deal of pressure on this line before it would break. This is this product's greatest attribute! If an angler loosens his drag before casting, his line should not break if a fish larger than 23 inches "surges" after the hook set. Line twist is Vanish Transition's weakest characteristic. Not many casts after 30, line twist had become so severe that a large wad of line coming off the reel wrapped around the guides. It was impossible to untangle. I cut off about 10 feet of line. At the end of a day of fishing with Vanish, I believe that after removing my lure, I will have to pull all my line off my reel and rewind it back on so that it will "naturally" unwind. Berkley, this cost you 2 "Review Stars". Hey, Berkley, in the manufacturing process, do you have Quality Control Inspectors, who are not color blind, who verify the color of the line just before it goes into the package? You can order Vanish in 2 colors--"Gold" or "Red". I ordered Red. I verified that my package said "Red"; but, the line on the spool was a beautiful "Gold" color. My definition of red is the color that most Fire Engines are painted. Berkley, this cost you 1 "Review Star". I am not going to ask for my money back, but, I will try your competitor's product before buying any more Vanish Transition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! super strong and sensitive. I've fished many lines over the last 15 years and this is my go to for all my casting rods. Strong enough to boatflip a 4+ pounder and rarely need to retie. The gold color makes light bites much easier to detect. 12# is my go to size. Most of my fish range from 2-7 pounds so I don't like to go lighter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst line I have ever purchased! I have been fishing for over 50 years. I purchased this line after my great experience through the years with Trilene. That being said, I spooled some 17 lb. Vanish on 2 of my baitcasters. What a terrible mistake! I went to the lake 2 days afterwards. 1st cast, backlash. lost about 1/3 of the line. Cranked down on the brake, OK for now. Pulled in what I had cut off and it was coiled like a snake. Remember, this was on the reel 2 DAYS! It was correctly spooled as I have learned something in my 50+ years of fishing. I never had any problems with any Trilene in any LB. test I ever purchased. The line was not marked as "Leader" as some spools were. The other reel, got a couple of casts before the inevitable happened. It was a shame that I didn't lose more line, meaning I would have had less to pull off the reel for the trash can. I would have posted pictures, but I'm sure everyone knows what a trashcan looks like and all experienced anglers know what to put in it. Vanish is absolutely the worst "fishing line" I have ever used. Want to guess what line is on my reels now? Trilene! Please take this garbage product off the market Berkely. Fishermen everywhere will thank you!
