Great Value
I use these rods to troll cranks for stripers in the Raritan Bay. This month I got a lot of fish, some over 25lbs, and these rods held up well. Thick form handles have a really nice feel. I would like them to be a little stiffer\faster, but that's a personal preference. These rods are a great value.

First off, I dont get to fish salt water so I cant tell you how these rods do but, as far as the fish waters of central Oklahoma you cant find a better rod.

great fish fighting abilities
I bought this rod 2 years ago to steelhead fish in the st joe river. I have caught over 30 steelhead weighing between 8 and 25lbs. Great fighting abilities and a backbone that is forgiving. 2 of these fish I am mounting along with this rod and reel

Best rod for the buck.
I have a number of cat rods from Rippin lips, Ugly Stik, American Spirit etc. and the Big Game rods are right there with them, and for the cost savings they take the lead. If Berkley were to add more guides and go with say a 7'6" MH 1 piece with 8 guides and a slimmed down handle in a "Pro Series" Big game I feel they would have the best rod for catfish. But I feel many would buy a 1 pc.
