This ski was fun and a great way for my 6 and 4 year olds to learn to "ski" After 2 trips to the lake the veneer on the ski started to warp, the white color discolored in the sun, the paint chipped easily around where the ropes go in and out of the ski and part of the rope came loose where it is just spliced into the other rope. Very disappointed with the quality; however, I have to say seeing how excited and proud my boys were with skiing made the [$] almost worth it. The ski just isn't like the old Dick Pope's that lasted year after year if you took care of them. There is a trick to the handle rope length and with how you start out being pulled up with deep water starts.

We live at the lake and our grandchildren, ages 3 & 4 loved "skiing" - the 4 year begged to ski whenever we were in the water. It is a must buy for grandparents who live on or near the water!

Comments about Gladiator Ski Trainer:
MY 6 YR. OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO GET UP THE FIRST TIME AND SKI FOR 20 MINUTES. IT BUILT HER CONFIDENCE AND ALLOWED HER TO ENJOY THE THRILL OF SKIING, AS THE REST OF OUR FAMILY DOES.
AS THE BOAT STARTED TO PULL HER UP: SHE DID NOT NOT EXPERIENCE THE STRONG PULL ON THE SKI HANDLE, WHICH NORMALLY FRIGHTENS AND DISCOURAGES MOST CHILDREN.
THE GLADITOR SKI TRAINER DID NOT PUT ANY TYPE OF STRAIN ON HER ARMS WHILE SKIING. I WOULD HIGHLY ENCOURAGE THE USE OF THIS SKI FOR CHILDREN.
I WOULD DEFINITLY RECOMMEND AND THE GLADIATOR TO MY FRIENDS AND FELLOW WATER SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Smooth Ride
Cons
- Too Stable

Comments about Gladiator Ski Trainer:
It was very exciting to see my 3 year old son ski yesterday. We had some trouble with my 5 years daughter but this was due to the lack of instructions. If you start in the sand and have the correct length of the handle according to the kids size, it is a no brainer to have them skiing in the first try. An instruction sheet should come with the skis. Other than that, if you love sking do not miss the chance to see your little kids on the water.
Last, I would not describe this as a trainer for real skiing. Is a totallly different ride with different skills needed. However, t is lots of fun and looks like the real thing when in the water. Everyone will stare at your kids finding it hard to believe their eyes...

I purchased this for kids ages 4 and 7. The catelog is misleading showing the picture of a two year old doing this. I didn't find it any easier than using junior skiis that are connected by a center rope.
