I'm a paraplegic and love to fish from piers. So I need a reel that is simple to use and easy to cast without having to worry about tangles. Plus be able to handle the sometime large fish that can be caught from piers. I found that this reel fits my needs and I'm very satisfied with it. Can't wait for the Spring runs.

the reel was great, no problems with surf casting 3 and 4oz lures. reeled in sand sharks, flounder, and of course skates. when i went to setup the line and rig, that is when i noticed that the tip guide was broken on the inside, had to have it repaired at a bait store( no gander store at the beach), after a few cast, i noticed that my line was fraying, the 2nd eyelet was also cracked and it was shredding my line, i did repair it with epoxy, and was able to fish the rest of the week with out incident, and the epoxy held up well.. i really enjoyed the outfit after the repair.. i plan on using it again and again.. might look for a different rod,

This set up I bought a few weeks ago, I was taking a fishing trip to Lake Texhoma In Texas, This set up was great, I no problem hauling In a 40lb flathead catfish on 20lb test line. I would recomend this to anyone....

Worked well for surf casting during my recent trip to the Florida Gulf. I found the Zebco reel easier to handle than the usual spin cast reel since I only fish in saltwater when I go on vacation. My usual fishing method involves a cane pole and a red worm.
