THis is an excellent reel, made by Quantum and branded by gander mountain. As always quantum makes a good reel and the price cant be beat.

got this reel on sale for a very good price. i wouldnt pay full price. however, it is a very nice reel and performs great with the 20# braid i'm using on it. i'm in the process of learning to pitch, and this addition has made it much easier. i would buy it again at the price i got. [...]

These reels are awesome thats why I bought two and I wish I would have bought more at the price I got them for! Obviously a Quantum reel and you cant go wrong with higher end quantum. Spend the money on good reels and you won't have problems.

I just bought a 2nd reel today and I wish I had more money to swap out my other reels for this one. This reel for [$] bucks was an amazing deal but when they had a $20 off coupon on top of this it's ludacris! Just too bad this steal ended today. The stats show this is the exact same as the quantum energy pt minus a bearing and for half the price when I bought it, which is just ridiculousness! I have been a long time fan of gander reels since they resemble or are made by name brands like pinnacle and quantum. I still have 4 elites made by pinnacle and 3 gsx titaniums that resemble the quantum code reds which are also awesome reels. These other gander reels have lasted me many seasons of pretty abusive bass fishing as long as you clean and grease them on a constant basis so I am sure these new x-factors will be in my arsenal for a long time as well.

I bought one of these last year when they first came out. After a year of use it has held up very good. I mostly use it for big northerns in canada and the casting, reeling, and drag are all very smooth. As good as any I have used.

Gander makes no attempt to hide the fact this reel is manufactured by Quantum. The body, ceramic drag system, acs control, finish, spool, and more are all the same as the high dollar Quantum reels.

When I compare this reel side by side, and cast by cast to my Tour Edition PT, I can NOT tell the difference between the two.

If you want an extremely high quality reel with the same features and internals as the reels used by the top pros, but at a fraction of the price, this is THE way to go.
