My wife and I help our children by canning and preping meals that can be frozen. I decided to use our kitchen aid mixe to grind pork but and stuff sausage casings. With the kitchen aid grinding was easy but stuffing was a PAIN. Since we did like the stuffed link that I made we decided to invest in a verticle stuffer. After comparing suffers on ---- --- and -------- web sites along with Gander Mountains I like the features and the fact that I got 4 different size tubes with the Weston Realtree 7lb verticle stuffer. Since all of my recipes are for 5lb of sausage I pack that amount in freezer/storage bags to refrigerate between the grind and blending stages. After blending I mark on the bag the blend - sweet Italian, hot Italian, Brats, breakfast sausage, Irish sausage, Kilbesa, etc... again refruigreating until ready to stuff. I think in my next production run I will make some sausage that I will then smoke before packaging for the freezer.

It is a breeze to stuff sausage and brats. The only downside (at least to my unit) is the interior finish of the bucket. It is very rough and the welds are not very smooth. I have not seen any others so I don't know if this is the norm or I received a unit that is not properly finished. Either way it works very well!

The Weston 7lb stuffer is a well made piece of equipment. I use it to stuff everything from full size bologna to breakfast sausage. The steel gears are far superior to the plastic found on many stuffers in this price range. I also appreciate that it comes with steel stuffing tubes instead of again the plastic that comes with so many others. I also like the large base plate with rubber feet so the stuffer doesn't have to be mounted with clamps to stay steady. The only fault I find with this stuffer is the way the tube is mounted below the stuffing canister which leaves more meat in the tube than I would like. A very good stuffer for the price.

This sausage stuffer is very well built. I stuffed 20lbs today by myself and it worked great. It comes apart easily for cleaning and has a nice fit and finish. I would buy it again.

Been using the sausage stuffing tube attachment on the grinder for years, but that is a very slow process. After doing some research, decided to go with this stuffer because of the way it's built. All steel construction (gears, stuffing tube), was afraid of the plastic models. The only problem was the first time I used it, I got a lot of blow by of sausage passed the plunger, after looking at it, it seems to me that the gasket might have been put on backwards. Next time I used it, I tuned the gasket around, and it worked great! I couldn't find in the direction which way the gasket was to go, so I'm going with what I did. I'm very happy with this unit!
