A piezoelectric ignition system eliminates the need for batteries or flint and functions reliably, even in wet conditions, and can easily be operated with one hand. There's a flame-indicator window on the side of the combustion chamber that glows when the lighter is ignited. A water-resistant O-ring seals out water when the lighter cap is closed.
