After constantly going through the hassle using
standard boat fenders in the past I ordered a
set of these when my wife and I recently
purchased a new pontoon boat. They are easy to
install and work great. We leave them attached
to the boat and simply lower the protective
arms when approaching a dock area. They protect
a boat better than anything we have ever used.

Caution, doesn't fit all pontoon boats.
Too limiting in size and a heavy, and expensive product. Probably good for very heavy duty applications on specific boats, but not good for general use.

Comments about Toonmate Ultimate Pontoon Guard:
We have two Pontoon Guards mounted on each side of our pontoon boat. ( 4 in all) It is a great feeling to know that other boats can join us without damaging each other. They work great when we dock as well. My best summer investment by far. Our boat still looks new and everyone asks about our pontoon bumpers.

Q:
It appears that you would have to take these off to snap your boat cover on at the dock ? Is this correct ? If not, then how do snap the cover on with the device in place ? I want to use these at the dock only since we have our boat docked on a lake that has varying lake levels and non-floating docks so when the lake levels are down over a couple weeks and you do not have time to check, regular fenders can come out of place and cause damage. I have been lucky until last week when we had bad storms when the lake level was down and had some damage to the front side when the fender did not work properly. Hoping this would be my answer !!Asked on 9/3/2012 by Rick1 answer
A:
All of our covers are rated for a width of 102" so if your pontoon boat is only 8 feet wide, which is common, then you could use these under your cover because the cover has some extra room. I do not know anything about your specific equipment so you will need to check that and consider that.Answered on 12/14/2012 by Justin M. from Overton's

Q:
I just received these in the mail & they look great. So excited to take them down to the boat. But Wait... will my pontoon cover pull down over the top of these & still snap in place. Oh dear, I hate the thought of having to return. I bet it won't. Over cover is pretty snug and having 2 on each side will make an added width. These would be used while docked & covered so for us it's not feasible to pull on & off just during use of the boat. The pic for these shows them hanging on a boat with snaps in the rail so it never crossed my mind till now... ugh! Has anyone covered their boat with them on? Any suggestions or ideas is greatly appreciated.Asked on 7/12/2012 by Tonya0 answers
