Overall, these look great! I was very pleased with the gray color. I thought it was going to be much darker but it was a VERY light gray -- almost white. The cushioning is a bit hard, but because they're new I imagine over time they will soften up. Very simple/practical design. Basically only three assembly pieces...back, seat, and base. However as one other reviewer mentioned, the hardware alignment isn't there so what could be a five minute assembly becomes quite a bit more. On all of the seats the hinges (which were pre-attached on the seat) didn't align with the holes on the base. So, on every hinge we had to drill out the holes to make them larger in order to align with the plastic base holes. Not a big deal for my husband because he's very handy -- It just takes a bigger drill bit (or i think he used an air file but many don't own those) So, net net, if you think you can just pop it out of the box, assemble and go, you'll be disappointed. But the effort is worth it. They look really nice. I will mention one other thing. We purchased a total of five seats and put two of them side-by-side for a longer couch in the back of our pontoon. The plastic bases leave a gap in between. But the seats and pillows butt up against each other very tightly. If you're a perfectionist, it might bother you. Me? Not so much.

I am known by my friends as a pretty good do-it-yourselfer and I strongly advise you not to buy this stuff! I have bought lots of items at Overtons and have generally been happy with quality until now. This stuff is junk. I bought Toonmate "Deluxe" pontoon furniture including two loungers, 2 captains chairs and 2 corner loungers and 4 bases to retro my pontoon boat. The fit is awful. All the seats are made differently..(like they cant seem to decide on a workable design.) Very few predrilled holes line up. Several slots that are suppose to facilitate alignment look like they were cut out with a putty knife. Some hardware is SS and some rusts overnight. Once when I did get the holes to line up, the seat top wouldn't close due to bad alignment. The only good thing is that there is no wood to rot (which is why I bought it). The Chinese make some good stuff but this isnt one of them. This is some of the worst engineered furniture I've ever seen.I am extremely frustrated. You will be too.

I am ending my fourth season of having used these seats (furniture). I replaced every piece on my pontoon 4 years ago. With a little wiping and an ocassional Armor All, they still look great. I keep boat covered year round and it helps. I would not hesitate to buy another set if ever a time comes to replace these. True, I had holes that would not line up as mentioned in other reviews. Big deal. It is plastic and it you don't have a drill handy, just ream it out with a wide tip screwdriver. Too easy! Happy tooning!

The onlu complaint is the holdes do not line up and some modifications have to be made in order to install the back rest to the bench seat. The receiving fastners for the lugs push out if not careful. Design is good.

Thank you for your question. Bases are mounted to your deck with your choice of screws/bolts from the inside of the base. Length of hardware depends on mounting application.

Can you cut holes in the bases to install small speakers? If so, does this effect the seats structurally or are they made to withstand speaker mounting?

Technically you can, but any modification to the seats will void the warranty on the upholstry and the frame.
