            Comments about Toon-Brite Protective Clear-Coat, one-gallon can:

Instructions were followed to the letter, specifically using the recommended Toon-Brite Cleaner and Polish kit before attempting to use the Clear Coat. HUGE MISTAKE TO USE ON ALUMINUM! Two weekends of work nearly ruined by this product which smeared black streaks over my shining clean pontoons.
After doing half of one pontoon, my wife and I spent another couple of hours scrubbing it off with paint thinner.
The product is either not suited for cleaned/polished aluminum or it needs additional instructions for prepping the toon after polishing. Very expensive useless product at this point.

            Comments about Toon-Brite Protective Clear-Coat, one-gallon can:

This product cannot be applied with a cotton cloth without runs. It is a thin liquid and runs very easily. I found that spraying it is much better, however, you must keep it stirred so the the complete mixture is being applied.

Do you have or could you recommend a marine clear coat paint. The finsh on my fiberglass boat needs to be lightly sanded and have a clear shine coat put on it. The paint and color are good just needs a new clear coat put on for the shine. For either a spray gun or a roller.

No this product is to add a protective clear coat to your boat. You will need to use an oxidation remover before applying this product to remove the oxidation.

                • Q:

I have a 18' Flatbottom show boat and the top portion of the hull has dulled from a plastic sheet placed on top and the heat got it in the gel coat. I want to keep this boat in the classic original condition which is a metal flake gold. We tried to color sand with 3000 grit but still did not take off the adhered plastic which damaged the finish. Can I use this product above (after prepping) to bring back the lustre?
