Each Greek Family model has selectable notching capabilities, adjustable sensitivity, depth readout, a battery life indicator, and 1/4 and 1/8 head phone jacks. Each metal detector operates at 7.8 kHz transmission frequency and runs on one 9V alkaline battery (not included). Six levels of adjustable discrimination. Running depth graph. Numerical target ID. Touch pad control interface. Modes include discrimination, pinpoint, and all metals mode. One alert tone. Overload alarm system. Preset ground balance. 8" open face coil.

      Just started using with my eight year old son. He loves it. It is easy for him to use and we have discovered several small treasures. Mostly coins but a few fishing weights as well. Pretty accurate for a beginner like us. Battery life at half mast after three hours of use. Not bad. Looking forward to many more adventures.

              This metal detector will work great in sand (dry) or wet sand (fresh water).

              If you need to detect in wet salty sand, you need to look an a pulse induction model.
