Comments about TRAC Portable Bilge Pump:

No manual with the pump. Was not aware that I would have to sit there and hold down the plastic around the switch to get it to pump! That is not a real convenience. My other pump you just turned it on and it pumped the water out when it worked. Is there some other way to hook this up and just turn it on when I need to pump the water out of my boat?

Comments about TRAC Portable Bilge Pump:

This product needs to be re-engineered to be built with better materials (or with other design changes). The 3 slots that are part of the upper blue body are used to firmly connect the lower black base to the body by griping onto the 3 flanges (protrusions or nubs) on the black base. But the "fingers" of the slot cannot hold enough force and the fingers of the slots crack from the body. This can be seen as small white fractures in the plastic on the INSIDE of the blue body. This fracturing causes the fingers of the slots to not hold the body and base together tight enough. Resulting in the batteries not connecting to the terminals and will eventually result in water getting past the O-ring and damaging the electrical components.
Both of the units that I received had this flaw upon receipt; and neither unit worked upon receipt.
