      Comments about TRAC Fluid/Oil Extractor, 3L / 3.17 Qt.:

As my Tagline says "If you know what you're doing". Since I, like most males, most of the time, don't read the instructions I made the mistake of trying to extract the oil from a hot engine. MISTAKE!!! Never try that as the end of the black pickup tube tends to melt into the oil reservoir.

This product does exactly what it's supposed to do, suck oil or other fluids from a reservoir. And the tank is clear enough so you can see it working.

The only downside is that the pickup tube should be able to handle higher temperatures, which makes extracting engine oil easier.

I used this to change the engine oil I'm my 5.7 Mercruiser. I tried to use it on a cold engine but it was way too slow while cold. The instructions say to warm the engine. After the engine was warm the oil sucked out better. It took much longer than I would have liked, but it worked. It is simple to use and not messy. The oil change took approximately half hour.
