Comments about StrikeMaster Honda-Lite Power Auger, 8":

The Honda auger is light easy to use and is really quiet with good fuel economy. I was up in Ely, MN lake trout fishing and left it in the truck i think the temp was close to 40 below at night next morning turn the choke on and it fired right up on the second pull. havent had any issues besides my throttle cable sticking but thats what happens when u leave it in the cold so just use some WD40 and pump the throttle till it doesnt stick and its fixed

Comments about StrikeMaster Honda-Lite Power Auger, 8":

I was ready to pull the trigger on an electric auger until I started reading about this one. The weight is comparable with this unit a couple pounds more.

The Honda engine runs quiet and always starts on the 2nd pull. This engine is not as big as some of the others but it cuts fine with the 8" blade.

Kind of pricey but should last several years. The build construction seems to be top notch and the blades hold up well.

This product is actually fun to use. It's lightweight and has started great at a variety of different temperatures. I have not had the opportunity to use it at -20 yet but I feel like it won't be an issue. I had a three year old "yellow and black" auger that only ran good when it was warm out which is not a great feature in an ice auger. Long term reliability is unknown but seems like a very good product. Watch out for the blades they are extremely sharp!

Now drilled over 450 holes with it, I can write a review, Starts on second pull at 30 bellow zero, much to my relief, Oil issue is odd as you are suppose to fill the oil to the bottom level of the dipstick and not to the top of its mark, you think THey could have made another dipstick for this engine...but oh well cuts well, Throttle stuck once and had to reattach throttle cable and thaw out the auger, other then that worked well. Poor throttle design but I do like its location. A good motor, and oh so quiet :-)
