Introducing a whole new level in safety and performance, the Standard Horizon HX870 Floating Class D DSC Handheld VHF Radio features a 66-channel WAAS GPS receiver which allows the radio to transmit a DSC distress call with your vessel's position or navigate to a waypoint. The oversized 2.3"diag. full dot matrix LCD and easy-to-operate icon/menu system make this the most intuitive handheld VHF on the market. DSC calling, position sharing, waypoint and route navigation, and navigation to DSC distress calls can all be performed with just a few simple steps.
Perfect for everyday use, the HX870 is designed to be a work horse. From the die-cast chassis and IPx8 submersible waterproof rating to the 6 watts of transmit power and the long-lasting 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery, this VHF radio is also a great addition to your ditch bag.
With the HX870 you can enter and save up to 200 waypoints and 20 routes which can then be used for navigation by way of the radio's unique compass page which displays your vessel's SOG, COG, Bearing, and Distance to waypoint. The compass page also has a Group Monitoring feature which lets you display the position of up to 9 vessels in proximity to you.
Advanced features include full dot matrix display with channel names, Position Request and Position Report, 10 channel preset key selection, USB data port, GPS position logger, a water-activated SOS strobe light that automatically flashes SOS when dropped in water, NOAA weather and weather alert, programmable memory and priority scan, dual and tri-watch scan functions, Man Overboard function, and noise-cancelling mic. Receives all USA/International/Canadian marine channels. The HX870 comes with a high-capacity 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery, 110V AC and 12V DC 3-hour quick chargers, and an alkaline battery tray (5 AAA batteries not included).
