The HX370S is all about features. This value-packed handheld VHF includes a 1400 mAh NiMH battery and an enormous LCD window with very easy-to-read digits and bold information flags, including a battery "gas" gauge indicating battery time remaining. The heart of the radio is a Standard Horizon transceiver that flawlessly delivers all U.S., Canadian, and international channels. Dedicated one-button access to weather, instant access to channels 9 and 16, programmable scanning, dual watch capability with channel 16 priority, and easy channel recognition with six-character naming capability make this a truly versatile tool for any workboat captain. The HX370S even has a built-in SOS signal with a high-intensity strobe light that can be seen at night over a mile away. The solid waterproof construction of the radio exceeds the JIS7 submersion standard and will provide years of hard use. Comes complete with rechargeable battery pack, AA alkaline battery tray, and drop-in charger with both AC and DC power cables. 4.8" H x 2.3" W x 1.2" D. Three-year warranty. |

The HX370S is a great readio at about half the cost of a comparable radio elsewhere. This is the best price I have found anywhere. The frequency cloning capability is very useful. Cloning cables are available on Amazon for about $15. If you have one radio programmed, and a cloning cable, you can buy additional radios and clone the frequencies onto the new radios in about 2 minutes. A radio shop will charge about $30 for this service, and charge up to $250 for the radio.

I do tactical shooting excerices and the guys I train with were using this radio to communicate so I jumped on the bandwagon. It was clear why everyone chose this radio. It's meant for boating but with the programmable channels it was easily converted to a land radio.
