Product Description
springfield_marine This unique Taper-Lock pedestal system allows a pedestal to be removed from its base and yet remain firmly in place when required. The slightly tapered Delrin bushing allows the pedestal to fit snugly yet disengage as needed. Locking tab helps prevent the pedestal from turning and keeps it firmly secured. By removing the pedestal, Taper-Lock becomes a "Hi-Lo" system which allows the seat to be used down in the lower position while the boat is under way. Post adjusts from 13-1/2" to 20". 2 3/8" diameter post.

Nice looking and very functional as expected. I've had it only a very short time. Fits very tight in the base, even a little difficult to release it. That's a plus as there is No play at all.

Comments about Springfield Marine Springfield Taper-Lock Power Rise Post with Locking Handle:

When I asked a friend of mine to go fishing with me on my used bass boat, we soon found out the seat post at the rear of the boat wasn`t real sturdy and it didn`t adjust up and down.My friend has a prosthesis leg and I could tell he
was a bit uncomfortable while fishing on that rear seat.I seen this seat post and although it was a little pricy, had to have it. It came quickly and I soon mounted the older seat on it and we headed back to the lake.Wow! Tight locking fit! Sturdy and no wobble! And adjustable for a more comfortable sit! A much needed addition to my boat! Thanks Overtons!

I needed a pedestal that I could move. I purchased a base and this pedestal, and now this is the best seat in the boat. (I will be purchasing another one). The base and pedestal were easy to install.

                    Thank you for your question.
Product does swivel, but it also has a lock to lock the pedestal in place as well.
                    I hope this is helpful.

Swivel-Eze and Springfield have similar designs but the parts are not interchangeable.
It looks like they will fit, but is not safe or recommended.

Not sure what my base type is, it's about 9" in diameter and has a black piece in the center with a slot on one edge. Will this work with this base?

We can not confirm that this pedestal will work in your existing base without knowing the brand of the base........Maybe it works or maybe not. See if there are any markings anywhere on the base even underneath.
