Comments about Springfield Taper-Lock™ Power Rise Post with Locking Handle:
I had ordered this pedistal earlier and it seemed to be ok, Then I ordered another and when I installed it, it seamed that the swivel where you mount the seat seemed to be mounted a little crooked as you turn the seat. I sent that one back and ordered a different one. When I got that one it seemed to be the same way so sent that one back also. Then I called the Springfield office and they explained to me that the pedistals are made with a slight tilt, so I ordered another one and mounted it and will keep it. Wish I had called Springfield when I received the second one... (so far no problem with the returns) THANKS TO OVERTONS

Comments about Springfield Taper-Lock™ Power Rise Post with Locking Handle:
I needed a pedestal that I could move. I purchased a base and this pedestal, and now this is the best seat in the boat. (I will be purchasing another one). The base and pedestal were easy to install.

Comments about Springfield Taper-Lock™ Power Rise Post with Locking Handle:
I needed an adjustable seat for my elderly father-in-law.The standard height seat was too low for him, making it very difficult for him to get out of the seat. With the new adjustable power rise post he can now easily get out of the seat without needing help.

Q:
Not sure what my base type is, it's about 9" in diameter and has a black piece in the center with a slot on one edge. Will this work with this base?Asked on 6/25/2012 by Lake Chillin' from Ephrata,WA1 answer
A:
We can not confirm that this pedestal will work in your existing base without knowing the brand of the base........Maybe it works or maybe not. See if there are any markings anywhere on the base even underneath.Answered on 10/15/2012 by Justin from Overton's
