Installed these on my previous boat and I am ordering a set for my new boat. They are great for locating bumpers where they are needed to prevent scraches.

Comments about Whitecap Spring-Loaded Cleat, each:

The cleat itself is fine, after boring a hole in the side of my jet ski, I felt I needed a gasket to prevent/reduce water inflow. so I had to make one. Also does not come with mounting hardware, i.e screws or nuts, I used pressure nuts so they wouldn't back off easily. With the gasket in place it seems to work fine. Just the extra hassle of having to go get gasket material and mounting hardware. For $29.99 seems it should come with that.

Unfortunately this cannot be installed without having access to the back of the installation location. Nobody, not even the manufacturer's hotline could answer that question before ordering. Could have been terrific but not for my purpose as a fender tie off.

                • Q:

What is the distance in inches from the bottom of the flange to the bottom of the shaft that the spring wraps around?

Another way to say it is how deep does the cavity need to be that this mounts in? Thanks for the reply.
